Pink Amethyst is considered a variety of Amethyst, meaning it shares the same crystal structure and chemical composition (SiO2) as purple Amethyst but has a different color due to variations in the trace elements present during its formation. While chemically still an amethyst (quartz with iron), the pink color is attributed to hematite and other iron-containing compounds. The standard purple variety of quartz (Amethyst)where the purple color is due to iron impurities. Pink Amethyst gets its color from hematite and iron just like Purple Amethyst.

A study was conducted on pink amethyst geodes from the El Choique Mine in Patagonia, Argentina (Mineralogical Record Vol. 51, No. 2, 2020). This article states that based on their research (using optical, spectroscopic, Raman and micro-chemical analyses), Pink amethyst is neither rose quartz or pink quartz. Both traditional Amethyst (purple variety) and Pink Amethyst get their colours from iron. The type of iron and how it's included in the crystals differ for each.

Pink Amethyst is a variety of Amethyst that crystallizes in the form of masses, prismatic shards, botryoidal, granular, and as a druzy coating. It originates from Argentina.

Pink Amethyst

Why isnt Pink Amethyst considered a form of Amethyst not Rose Quartz? Yes, Pink Amethyst is a variety of Amethyst, distinct from rose quartz. While both pink and purple Amethyst get their color from iron, the specific way iron is present in Pink Amethyst, with hematite inclusions, gives it a pinkish-red hue. Rose quartz, on the other hand, derives its pink color from titanium, manganese, and iron inclusions. So, while both types of Amethyst have iron in them, the way the iron is present in the crystal structure is different. In Pink Amethyst, this mix of light purple and red iron creates its unique pink color.

Pink Amethyst

In essence, pink amethyst is a specific type of amethyst, while rose quartz is a different mineral variety altogether. Energetically Amethyst and Pink Amethyst are similar to each other as their formation, molecular.

Pink amethyst's energy is softer and more nurturing, while amethyst's energy is more powerful and psychic.

Pink Amethyst is Heart Chakra center and has a softer feminine influence. Amethyst has a Third Eye, Crown Chakra vibration with a stronger influence intuition, spiritual growth. Both do enhance love and understanding within relationships.

Pink Amethyst improves precognition because it allows the Heart Chakra to align with the soul. Allow energy increases as vibrancy grows. Happier, people tend to have more visions.

Pink Amethyst

Pink Amethyst is a stone of transformation because you're aligning yourself with your true love. Aligning with your true loves, requires a certain amount of transformation to enable the higher self to come forward. The calming abilities with Pink Amethyst are from self soothing. Self soothing or the ability to remain calm is a reflection of the self-love within a person. The Root Chakra is impacted by Amethyst's very stable as an energy. The Root Chakra  is the vortex between spiritual plane and the physical, hench the name root. The third eye enables you to understand more fluently your circumstances, your environment and those you're interacting with.   The healing properties of both crystals work address, complexities of inner insecurity by enabling their person to find their goals.
